According to data from China’s customs, China’s exports of steel products reached around 7.76 million tons in May, a month-on-month increase of 55.9% and increasing by 47.2% year on year.

Meanwhile, the steel product imports were 806,000 tons, dropping by 15.7% month on month and a year-on-year decrease of 33.2%. The imports of iron ore were around 92.5 million tons, up by 7.5% compared to the previous month but down by 3% year on year.

In the first five months of this year, the steel products exports from China were approximately 25.9 million tons, decreasing by 16.2% year on year. The total steel products imports amounted to around 4.98 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 18.3%. China’s iron ore imports totaled about 446.9 million tons, decreasing by 5.1% year on year.
